where the time goes

Brian Stoker
@brian-stoker
A long dark corridor lined with tall glowing glass columns, blue sand settling at different levels in each, like hourglasses.

selfactor

  • gates: the promotion gates were being handed a project's whole history and kept failing plans that had already passed their latest validation run, which is why several projects had to be landed by hand. a gate now only ever sees the latest validation pass.
  • build time: exhaustive research into where deploy-main time actually goes: a build graph over deploy-main and every workspace build with 5th, 50th and 95th percentile breakdowns, then two deploy-main runs on the new shape.
  • landing: cleaned worktrees kept coming back to life because the lander's own worktree observation was resurrecting them; stopping it took three landings before it stayed stopped, plus a repair for the erroneous recreation path.
  • projects: self-rag landed after the gate blocked it for a day; the brain index landed and its front end is next; the approved artifact design is being implemented; a bench and eval workspace already existed and is where the public eval surface goes; a self-research project opened; a second linux machine was provisioned so builds can run concurrently.
  • cli: self config schema get <KEY> answers without the preamble; a contract review phase landed in the phase engine; session diagramming got more detailed, with a session graph and trace playback, plus a prompt that builds a historical research index out of session, git, work-item and artifact history.
  • connectors: investigation and proposal for first-class connectors for codex, claude, grok and perplexity, with perplexity treated as its own surface.
  • artifacts: images dropped into the artifact ui are still treated as ephemeral; the upload path needs fixing.

gdock

  • the modal resolves an organization through the canonical cli membership instead of guessing, and can recover a session before a repository is selected.
  • the restored modal bundle ships inside the native web resources and was regenerated on main; the modal fidelity work and the repeated-gdock elimination task both landed, and the stray outer borders are gone.

selfagents

  • the desktop's home-directory migration is done, and the organization roster, layout, org navigation and titlebar dragging came back with it; pinned agents drag into compact avatar tiles and avatar skies paint before video seeks.
  • plugin ownership moved into the desktop, the manager picker is gone, and the group chat now inherits the appearance text-size setting; avatar size and idle clip count work opened.

rr

  • remember-me: merge conflicts resolved against main, auth validation type checks restored, branch pushed so it can be landed safely.
